Tiny Tributes: Innovative Exhibit Celebrates The People & Stories Of Our Global Community
The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures, in collaboration with Rudy Flores and Teresa Estrella present Tiny Tributes, an ongoing community arts project. This community collective is a living, breathing exhibition, with new voices being collected daily. Beginning in June 2024, every summer The Mini Time Machine Museum will spotlight a new selection of 3-D printed figures, showcasing people from all around the world who have taken part in the Tiny Tributes project.
The Tiny Tributes project is the next revolutionary step in the artistic journey of Tucson artists Rudy Flores and Teresa Estrella, evolving from their groundbreaking Army Man Project. Started in 2015, with the power of crowdfunding to support their vision, Flores and Estrella began scanning members of the Tucson community, turning them into 3-D printed Army Men and, most importantly, collecting their individual stories along the way.
The Tucson community is invited to participate in this ongoing community arts project in two ways. Participants can have a 3-D printed Tiny Tribute made in their likeness and included in the exhibition Donations to cover the materials and time for the scan are encouraged. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received and are based on session availability. These sessions do not include a duplicate figure to keep.
In addition to having a 3-D printed Tiny Tribute made in the participant’s likeness included in the exhibition, for a $100.00 fee directly supporting the artists, participants may also receive a copy to keep. The personal Tiny Tribute comes in a collector’s clamshell display box with participant’s name, designed by Flores and Estrella.
An opening reception, and season recap, will be held for members on June 6.
