Instructor Bio
Ray Mendonca's love for miniatures began at an early age, and he has since actively built and collected dollhouse miniatures for the last 45+ years. He is a current member of the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA) and has attended their annual Guild School in Castine, MN since 2022. A former VP & President of the Tucson Miniature Society (TMS), he remains an active member. As a hobby instructor, he has led classes for TMS and assisted at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures (where he has been affiliated since 2017) as a donor, volunteer, trained docent, and consultant.
Ray is now happily doing what he loves—learning new techniques in creating dollhouse miniatures—after retiring from a career split between Human Resources management at various CA-based companies and working as a professional stage actor in the SF Bay Area. He was also a part-time Theatre Arts instructor and director at Ohlone Jr. College in Fremont, CA, as well as a Teacher’s Assistant at Chadbourne Elementary in Fremont.
