Are you interested in donating a dollhouse, miniature furnishings or accessories, miniaturist tools or supplies, or small-scale artisan pieces? These in-kind donations are greatly appreciated!

Miniature & Supply Donations: What We Can Accept

We are delighted to accept your unrestricted donated objects and supplies. Unrestricted donations may be used to benefit our museum at the museum’s discretion, including for use in outreach programs, workshop supplies, or to sell to raise funds in support of our museum’s mission to educate and inspire the next generation of miniaturists. We can ensure your donated miniatures and dollhouses will continue to bring joy for years to come!

Please Note: Due to our storage limitations, we are not always able to accept your in-kind donations.

In-Kind Donation Guidelines:

  • The Mini Time Machine Museum does not accept items which are badly damaged, potentially hazardous, leaking, dirty, or otherwise unusable. The museum reserves the right to discard or dispose of donated items which fall into any of these categories of disrepair. Craft supplies and materials which have been gently used but are in good working condition are gladly accepted.

  • The Mini Time Machine Museum does not accept items which can be viewed as derogatory to individuals or communities based upon their race, gender, identity, political affiliation, culture, religion, or socioeconomic status. The museum reserves the right to discard or dispose of donated items which are not in alignment with our values and mission.

All items for donation must be clean, sorted, and accompanied by a completed Donation Form

Want the Museum to Add Your Piece to the Collection?

If your preferred outcome for your In-Kind Donation is to be acquired by the museum for our permanent collection, your donation must adequately meet our strict acquisition policies. These donations must be reviewed and approved by multiple committees prior to acceptance and acquisition.

When submitting an in-kind object for acquisition consideration, please have the following information prepared:

  • Year the piece was made or best estimate; artist(s) name(s) or manufacturer; country of origin and provenance
  • Dimensions; electrical requirements; working condition and detailed photos of any damage due to age or handling
  • If the object includes multiple artisan-made miniatures, include a listing of these contributing artists
  • Brief bio of the miniature artist (if known); supplemental relevant information that would assist the Acquisitions Committee in the preliminary assessment of the work, such as: cultural significance, artist statement, publications, etc.
  • 1 - 10 high-resolution photos

Please be aware that the museum cannot legally appraise your in-kind donation nor assign a Fair Market Value. Fair Market Value is determined by the donor. If your object has been appraised, we will require a copy of the appraisal for the acquisition process.

In-kind donations are only accepted by appointment. To schedule an appointment to drop off a donation, or for questions pertaining to the acquisitions process, please contact our museum curator, Emily Wolverton by phone at 520-881-0606.
