Memory Lane: Traditions in Motion from the Arizona State Museum
June 16, 2026 – January 10, 2027
A selection of 11 die-cast model cars and other small-scale vehicles, curated from the Arizona State Museum’s Traditions in Motion exhibition. Each vehicle has been hand painted by Native artists. For many Indigenous communities, adopting and adapting car culture is a way of expressing heritage and contemporary experiences. Cars, skateboards, motorcycles, bicycles, and even shoes become canvases, often incorporating traditional symbols, colors, and patterns. This unique expression of self is a dynamic and evolving cultural landscape.
Because the Arizona State Museum is currently closed to the public, this exhibition is a collaboration with ASM, including hands-on activities hosted by their education department, including select vehicles on display.
