Ara Bentley: The Beetlejuice House & Addams Family Mini Mansion

Texan Ara Bentley became a YouTube sensation after starting her channel, Bentley House Minis, to share progress on her miniature Addams Family mansion. After nearly 10 years, Bentley completed the 16-room mansion in 2020. The mini mansion was on display from October 2021 to November 2023 but was deinstalled to showcase her Captain’s Quarters. Now, we are excited to present it once again alongside Bentley’s newest and most ambitious piece to date, The Beetlejuice House, currently in production.
About the Beetlejuice House
Follow along with artist Ara Bentley as she brings the iconic Beetlejuice house to life—complete with all your favorite characters—through her YouTube videos. Then see the finished miniature in person when it goes on view at the museum this October.
About the Addams Family Mansion
Based on both the 1960s television series and the Addams Family movies from the 1990s, Bentley’s Addams Family Mini Mansion was ten years in the making. Over that time, she added multiple kits and custom builds to the original Real Good Toys Alison Jr Kit. The finished project is comprised of fiberboard, plywood, and foam board. Most of the items in the house were handmade by Bentley, who shared her creative process as tutorials with her social media followers. Not all of the accessories are handmade; she included some found objects and store-bought miniatures. Other miniaturists participated in swaps or sent gifts of miniatures for the project, as well. One of the final additions to the house is the tree in the yard, added in 2019 as an homage to the most recent Addams Family animated film.
About Ara
Ara Bentley is a miniature artist who lives in Texas. She runs the Bentley House Minis YouTube page and has been creating miniatures for about 10 years. She has an architectural background and finds that is very helpful in many of her builds. Ara is married with 2 children and balances motherhood and being an artist on a daily basis. Every now and then her kids will join in on the miniature fun. While Ara does sell some of her miniatures, her main goal is to teach through her videos and create a miniature loving community.
