The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is pleased to spotlight local miniature artist Jorge Ruiz, whose work is deeply rooted in his hometown of Nogales—on both sides of the border—and his current home in Tucson. Formally trained as an architect, Jorge brings meticulous detail and emotional depth to his miniatures, which celebrate the weathered facades and iconic signage of beloved local landmarks.

During this informal meet-and-greet, visitors can engage with Jorge in the galleries, view his work up close, and learn more about his creative process. He’ll be working on a piece currently in progress and sharing insights into the techniques and materials he uses to bring “the faces of the city” to life.

This is a unique opportunity to hear the stories behind Tucson and Nogales’ well-worn buildings—like La Rancharita and Golden Pin Lanes—and discover how miniature art can preserve and honor community memory.
