The Yellow Rose of Texas, Brooke Tucker, 1985

The Yellow Rose of Texas is Tucker’s only complete miniature dollhouse. This elaborate miniature shows off the master miniaturist’s ability to create a complete, self-contained little world. This work was commissioned by a woman in Texas who cancelled after the bedrooms had been completed. Pat Arnell picked up the commission. Family photos of the Arnell’s can be found on the third floor at the staircase landing.
Designed to capture the moment when the household is aglow with the excitement of a pending marriage, it depicts, as she describes it, “…a moment in time – a prettier, more gracious time, a world into which viewers might escape into their own reveries.”
