Haunted Wagon Stop Motion Animation Class

Title:  Haunted Wagon Stop Motion Animation Class

Class Description: Bring your ghostly creations to life using Stop Motion Animation! In this class, participants will build a miniature western wagon, create “haunted” accessories and assemble a cast of ghostly characters. Participants will bring movement to their miniatures using “frame by frame” stop motion animation techniques. For some extra spooky fun, participants will tour the museum’s temporary exhibit, Jean Leroy’s Buzzard Creek Ghost Town and enjoy the HalloWEEn decorations!

Instructor Biography: Djamila Jean-Charles, also known as DJ, is a stop motion animator, fabricator, and sculptor. Djamila received her B.F.A. in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Originally from New York, Djamila recently settled in Tucson and became involved with The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. As an artist and educator, Djamila is excited to share her passion for miniatures and filmmaking with others. 

Minimum and Maximum Enrollment: 7/15 

Tools/Materials: All craft tools and materials will be provided. For the second session, participants will be asked to bring a tablet, iPhone or Android phone with a free stop motion moviemaking app already installed. Detailed instructions on downloading a free moviemaking app will be sent with the class confirmation letter. 

Minimum & Maximum Age: 8-15 years

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be issued five or more days in advance of the class unless otherwise noted. In the event a class is cancelled by the museum, a full refund will be issued.
